unturf: grow these gardens to help save the world!
##########################################################################

preface: unturf
==========================================================================

In this story we follow a family on their journey to become self-sufficient.

The family builds systems and processes which not only self-sustain but also
self-renew, self-recharge, and self-propagate.

Yes, at times the systems require attention, but it takes only a gently
guided hand to nudge a fix or correct the course.

These systems and processes are played out with all `8 Forms Of Capital <http://www.appleseedpermaculture.com/8-forms-of-capital/>`_ in order to
http://www.regenterprise.com/regenerative-enterprise/

From growing food on their small `suburban homestead <https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcpWQjpQJ465FYJEx2DuDFA>` and giving away their intellectual capital, and
surpluses to help teach others how to live a life that will save the world.

chapter 8: propagating trees and shrubs

"Hugelculture: In A Pot! (nursery trick)", "EdibleAcres", "May 18, 2018", "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSGCUqkTSgY"

1. Get a pot
1. Put ~9cm (~3.5 inches) of woodchips in bottom of pot
  1. A bit of saw dust
  1. Some editable mushroom spores
  1. some sprouts of random extra seed,
  1. a bit of turf
1. finished compost and plant tree or 2 shrubs
1. finally fill the pot to the very top lip with woodchips as mulch

Think about stool propagation by burying trunk of
herbs to cause them to root.

Then after a year or so you may divide.

Leave in pots to have ability to move indoors or into a green house

fully submerge the entire pot into a aerobic compost tea bath of water,
black strap molassils, fish emultion, finished compost, splash of human urine,

Cleans hands better than soap.

Henry the dog will drink it.

Soak the whole pot, submerge under tea water for 20-30 seconds, then take out
and let the pot drip over a grill so that the excess tea water goes back into
the tub.

Only needs to water 4-5 times a growing season, or sometimes only 1 once per
season if it's extra wet!

There is a chance the editable mushroom innocolates and fruits in the pot, or
fruits at the location where the pot owner propagates the plants to.

Research Findings:

apples originate and grow wild in kazakhstan!:
https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/the-last-wild-apple-forests-almaty-kazakhstan

which explains why france, who are in a higher and thus colder latitude to the
wild apple forests in kazakhstan, grow the more cold hardy green apple varieties
and basically have a monopoly on the market...

But why are french green apples able to out-compete growers in new england on growing
green apple varieties? The french need to ship their apples which costs oil, both
in the and the environment suffer.

we should be able to out-compete them, we have near zero travel costs for going to
market!
